The Albion, built in 1873, is one of New Zealand’s oldest and well maintained hotels, located in the heart of Auckland City. This historical hotel is situated near some of New Zealand’s finest dining, shopping, entertainment and business centres. It is within walking distance to the popular Queen St shops, Auckland’s famous Viaduct Harbour, Sky City’s Casino and Sky Tower, Vector Arena, Aotea Performing Arts Centre, The Civic Theatre, Auckland’s Town Hall and Aotea Square.

This Boutique hotel comprises of five levels. There are 22 rooms made up of triples, doubles and twins in the top three levels then the main hotel bar at ground level and the steak house restaurant in the lower level. The main bar is open 24/7 and offering a variety of entertainment from gaming, TAB for the betting punter, pool table and live entertainment ranging from quiz nights to live Karaoke. For those avid sports fans there is Sky Television showing all the major games. There is a bar snack menu available at all times in the main bar. Fully cooked breakfast is available in the downstairs restaurant from 7.00am - 11.00am and the Steak house menu is available for lunch and from 5.00pm - 9.30pm. The Albion has a very relaxed atmosphere, where you can feel right at home amongst the staff and local clientele.

We occasionally have limited parking available. However there is street parking and parking available under the Sky City Centre located right opposite the hotel. There is also a car park located right next to the hotel off Hobson Street. Beware this car park is not owned by the hotel so it is important that you display a current parking ticket at all times as this park is monitored on a regular basis.

The Albion Hotel is located at 119 Hobson Street, Auckland CBD. The hotel is only a short taxi ride from the train station. We are located opposite the national bus station with buses departing and arriving on a regular basis from destinations throughout the North Island. For those traveling by Air we can arrange shuttle transportation to the Airport with a pick up from the hotel, those arriving in Auckland can either catch a shuttle bus which will deliver you to our hotel or an Airport bus into the City which will drop you at the Sky City centre a short walk from our hotel. Travel time is approximately a ½ hour drive. Taxis are available but very expensive.

Traveling by car and heading north on the motorway, take the Nelson Street exit. Travel down Nelson Street to the 3rd set of traffic lights and turn right into Wellesley Street. The Albion Hotel is located on the LHS on the corner of Wellesley and Hobson Streets. Traveling south after the harbour bridge take the Cook Street exit from the motorway. Travel up Cook Street to the first set of traffic lights and turn left into Nelson Street . At the next set of traffic lights turn right into Wellesley Street and the Albion Hotel is located on the LHS.
