Four Nations 7's Tournament.
Our first game against Marist was a close one, we had a great start scoring
a try straight away but we relaxed after that and let Marist take a 2 try
lead. With a couple of minutes left on the clock we managed to score a
couple of good tries giving us a slim win.
Next up were hosts College Rifles, a game we should have won but once again
we gave them a lead which was too big to reel in this time.
Another game we should have won, Eden turned out to be the giant killers of
the tournament as well as Cup Winners, beating Ponsonby in the Cup Semis and
Rifles in the Cup Final. Too much speed from Eden was too much for us.
So it was onto the Plate Semi Final for us where we met the Niue Wanderers,
the boys finally played some better 7s and came out on top.
We met Marist in the Final where we scored a last minute try to win 7 - 5
and $500 Prize Money. It's always good to at least win your entry fee back.
Big thanks to all the boys who took part and to Darren, Thomas and Misi for
helping out. And also to all of our supporters who attended. It was good
to see you all there.
Next tournament is this Saturday at Pakuranga, first game kicks off at
10:40am vs Pakuranga Orange. Hope to see you all there
