Hi. My name is Jim Hmielewski and I was at the 87 World Cup. I live in
Nashville, Tennessee, USA and came and played with a club side called the
Tennessee Long Rifles. We wore brown and black colours, and our distinction
to others, were our caps we wore out, which were Racoon Caps. Raccoons are
common in the southeast United States, the caps had a raccoon tail
attached.a black and brown striped tail. Many an opponent wanted to trade
for our caps and pins. My girlfriend and I were talking about how we would
love to come to the 2011 cup. My nickname is "ski" and I played fullback
for our club. We landed in Auckland, went to Australia, came back, watched
the famous consolation final at Rotorua and final in Auckland. We played
games in 8 or 9 different venues while there. Coach was Joe Franklin. I
was hoping to catch up or even perhaps stay with some of the same (now
older) folks we played and partied with back then. I was wondering if you
could send this out to some of the old boys at different clubs to see if
anyone remembered us and could correspond. Thank you for your help.
